I am planning to get an external GPU (Nvidia Titan), but need a Nvidia Geforce 1050/1060 inside the laptop for the occasions when I won't have access to the external GPU.

Graphic design, video editing and virtual reality. As a result I prefer HP or Dell, which I believe have a good warranty service.ĥ) Would you consider laptops that are refurbished/redistributed?Ħ) What are the primary tasks will you be performing with this notebook? I need to have a good warranty such as next day, as this will be used for work and can't be without. Thanks in advance for all your help and taking the time to read this.ģ) Where will you buying this notebook? You can select the flag of your country as an indicator.Ĥ) Are there any brands that you prefer or any you really don't like? I have googled online, and it seems there is no way to connect an external GPU to the surface book 2, which is a real shame. If it had a Thunderbolt 3, it would have been perfect. The graphics card on there is good, but won't be strong enough for the type of VR work that I am doing which will need a much stronger graphics card.

The new surface book 2 (15 inch) was perfect except for the fact that it doesn't allow me to connect to any external GPU. However this has the Nvidia GeForce 150 MX, which won't handle VR well, which is important when I won't have access to the external GPU. I have looked at the HP Spectre 15 which is a 2 in 1 and has an 8th Generation Intel processor. I was looking at the Asus UX 561 ( as it has an Nvidia Geforce 1050 card and has an 8th Generation intel processor), but there is no release date and I need a laptop quite urgently as the current one is not working. I am also keen to get an 8th generation intel processor, so that it is future proof. I am looking to use this for graphic design purposes and will be using the Adobe Creative Cloud packages including photoshop, premier pro and other virtual reality technologies including the vive.Īs I will be drawing straight onto the screen of the laptop, I need a 2 in 1 on the go, but also require a good graphics card, so I am planning to connect to an external GPU. I am looking for a 2 in 1 laptop which has a thunderbolt, 8th Generation Processor and built in Nvidia GeForce GTX 1060.
